We started out studying butterflies and used I Corinthians 5:17 as our verse for the week. We had fun not only reading about insects but studying them in nature - next year we're going to have to order a butterfly kit - we planted zinnias though so we've got lots of butterflies to observe here at the house. We also studied active ants (Proverbs 6:6-8 - Victoria loves to quote that one "Go to the ant, you SLUGGARD" - I think she just likes that word!).During our ant study, we made an "ant picnic" by putting different foods on a paper plate and waiting for the ants to come eat - the favorites of our ants were peanut butter and bananas! Charlie got into fire ants in the garden - ant bites all over - very swollen - a little too much research!
We followed that with busy bees (Colossians 3:23),During the bee study we learned how bees make honey by using their own saliva to mix with the pollen, etc. Charlie will no longer eat honey - "it's made of bee spit, Mommy" he tells me!

What do you do with all their artwork...I keep getting stuck with a LOT of artwork, we mailed tons to daddy while he was deployed but then what, like each bug you make and each project you do...do you have a system? for not keeping everything?
